North Haven Police Benevolent Association 1st Annual Benefit Car Show
![]()
Despite the gloomy conditions, the enthusiasm was high on June 15th for the North Haven Police Benevolent Association's 1st Annual Car Show. North Haven Police Officer Ted Stockmon, one of the show's organizers, said "We're very happy with the turn out despite the inclement weather for our first show. We had approximately 110 registered car owners display their hot rods, classic cars and specialty vehicles to show their support for the PBA benefit." Ted added, "There had been at least 200 spectators that walked through the North Haven Middle School gates to view the cars and specialty vehicles. If the weather hadn't become so disagreeable in the afternoon, I'm sure we would of had twice that amount". PoliceCars.us also talked with Phil Masso of Rhode Island. Phil owns a top-notch period correct 1988 Dodge Diplomat NYPD reproduction. "The show was great, very well organized", Phil said. "We're all looking forward to next year's show." We agree with Phil, the cars, food and entertainment were all first-rate.

Phil Masso's 1988 Dodge Diplomat NYPD Highway Patrol Phil purchased this car in 2003 and immediately started the NYPD Highway Patrol conversion process. The car was originally a Nassau County, NY un-marked. While in Phil's possession the car has undergone a meticulous rebuild of period correct NYPD accessories. "The car was in nice shape when I found it. The previous (civilian) owner used the car often for everyday driving," according to Phil. He told PoliceCars.us, that when he bought it, the car had 76,000 miles on it. Now it's up to around 91,000 miles. "I drive it up and down the Eastern Seaboard to as many Specialty Car shows and events as I can. It's a pleasure to drive and it turns a lot of heads where ever we go." |
